#19b My Mental Healthcare Journey: From Distrust to Advocacy

2020 was a huge year of change in my life. Not only did I begin a 12 step program of recovery from drugs and alcohol, but I took a mental healthcare journey that I talk about in this episode. And then, towards the end of the year my then-wife filed for divorce. This on top of moving back in with my parents and a global pandemic lockdown.

A Must Listen....seriously don't miss it!

A Simple Life with Michael Jefferies is a not-to-be missed podcast series! This is a program that welcomes dialog about many of the tough things in life that a person may encounter. Michael graciously opens the door, creating a judement free space allowing for his guests to share their real and raw stories. Subject matter that so many of us are itching to discuss but may lack the courage to do so. In a time where our world is becoming increasingly divided, "Yes vs. No," "Good vs. Evil," "Conservative vs. Liberal" yielding a divisive existence- Michael invites healthy conversations in a space where no one assigne a verdiect on who is right and who is wrong, rather a space to simply discuss what "IS." I hope you take the time to listen and enjoy it as much as we have!

Fascinating content

I really love how Michael presents the information in his podcast. When he is interviewing a subject you can tell he is genuinely interested in the answers to his questions. He makes sure to expand and follow up for more details when necessary. He allows his subject to breath. His episodes with just him are just as interesting. Being able to hear someone work out concepts and grow is a breath of a fresh air. Michael knows he has something to offer the world without pretending to have all the answers. I highly recommend giving this podcast a listen and I would start with Steena’s episode.
